Leeds United supporters are reacting on Twitter after Luke Murphy signed for Bolton Wanderers.

Leeds terminated Murphy’s contract a year early on Wednesday, with the Bolton News later announcing he was expected to sign for the Trotters today (Thursday).

The Whites paid around £1 million to prise the 28-year-old away from Crewe Alexandra, but after being a regular in his first three seasons at Elland Road he found himself sent on loan to Burton Albion in each of the past two campaigns.

Yet, despite his lack of action for their side of late, plenty of Leeds fans have retained fond memories of Murphy.

Despite his departure, the Macclesfield-born player could be back at Leeds within a fortnight, with Bolton due to travel to Elland Road in the League Cup first round.
