Some Leeds United supporters believe the time has come to promote Ryan Edmondson properly.

The 17-year-old striker scored his sixth and seventh goals of the season as the Leeds Under-23s beat Notts County 5-0 on Thursday – less than a week since his hat-trick in the 4-1 win against Barnsley.

Edmondson made his senior bow as a substitute against Queens Park Rangers earlier in the campaign, and followed that up with another brief cameo against Birmingham City.

But according to the following Leeds fans on Twitter, the former York City prospect is ready for more…

And another echoed that view on Instagram, posting in response to Edmondson:

wentcliffe57: Well done lad, must be knocking on 1st team door soon.

With Kemar Roofe back fit, Leeds are not short of options in Edmondson’s position.

That said, the Whites look set to be without the services of Patrick Bamford – their £7 million summer recruit – until the New Year.

Does Edmondson deserve a chance in Marcelo Bielsa’s first team?
