Some Leeds United fans have taken to social networking site Twitter to urge the club to appoint Sam Allardyce as the manager.

Thomas Christiansen was appointed the Leeds head coach in the summer of 2017 following the departure of Garry Monk, who is now in charge of Championship rivals Middlesbrough.

Although the Whites started the season strongly, their results and performances in recent weeks have been very disappointing.

Leeds suffered a 3-1 defeat to Brentford away from home at Griffin Park in the Championship on Saturday evening.

The result means that the Whites are now outside of the playoff spots, and some Leeds fan want the club to dismiss head coach Christiansen and replace him with Allardyce.

Allardyce is without a managerial job at the moment, having parted company with Premier League club Crystal Palace at the end of last season.

The Englishman is one of the best football managers around without a job at the moment, but would Leeds be able to convince him to manage in the Championship?
