Some Leeds United fans on Twitter are responding to a message on social media from Pontus Jansson.
The former Leeds powerhouse captained Brentford to a Championship win over London rivals QPR on Friday night.
Ivan Toney struck the winner for the Bees on 64 minutes at the Brentford Community Stadium. after both sides went into the break with one goal apiece.
In doing so, Jansson and Brentford have moved fourth in the Championship and three points adrift of an automatic promotion spot.
The Sweden international, who joined the club from Leeds in the summer of 2019 after incurring the wrath of Whites boss Marcelo Bielsa, was a fan favourite during his three-year stint at Elland Road.
He posted a celebratory tweet after the QPR win last night and here’s how some fans of the West Yorkshire outfit responded to their former hero on Twitter.
Even the most bitter of Leeds supporters might not begrudge Jansson a taste of Premier League football next season.
He helped Bielsa’s side to the playoffs in 2019, and then was a beaten playoff finalist with Brentford last season.
He’s certainly inching his way closer to reaching the top flight and given his service for Leeds, many fans would like to see him in the big time.
Then again, others evidently would not.
