Leeds United fans on Twitter are made up for Ezgjan Alioski.
On Thursday, the 28-year-old played 90 minutes as Macedonia won 1-0 away to Georgia to qualify for Euro 2021 – his nation’s first-ever major tournament.
Alioski is certainly the joker in the Leeds pack and ‘Gianni Cam’ on Twitter, in which the former Lugano star commits some pre-match shenanigans, has had fans of the Elland Road club howling in recent years.
But it was time to get serious last night and Alioski and his compatriots finished the job of qualifying with the utmost professionalism.
The player reacted to the victory on Twitter late last night – and here’s how Leeds fans responded to their heroic utility man:
A second-half winner from 37-year-old Goran Pandev was enough to fire the minnows to Euro 2021.
In contrast, Stuart Dallas, Alioski’s teammate at Leeds, won’t be joining him or anybody else at the competition next summer after Northern Ireland lost their playoff in extra time to Slovakia.
