Michael Cuisance has refused claims that he failed a medical at Leeds United.
Sky Sports News reported in September that the Bayern Munich playmaker was closing in on an £18 million move to Elland Road.
But it was later claimed that a move to Leeds collapsed because of a failed medical.
The 21-year-old joined Ligue 1 outfit Marseille from the Bundesliga champions earlier this week.
And speaking in an interview today, the player himself has rebuffed suggestions that the botched move to Leeds was related to fitness issues.
He said to Foot Mercato: “There was no problem with the medical examination. I had one in Marseille and it went very well. There was no problem on my side. Afterwards, I don’t know more. Here, I had it and I’m in good shape.”
It was reported by The Daily Mail that Leed had concerns over a previous injury that the young Frenchman had sustained.
Here’s how fans of the West Yorkshire club reacted to this afternoon’s denial that he failed the medical:
Leeds fans are absolutely right to trust Marcelo Bielsa and his medical staff at Thorp Arch.
Rob Price and his staff have more than proven themselves as reliable characters in this field in recent years and if they suspected something, the Whites couldn’t have pulled the trigger on an £18 million investment.
