
Leeds United’s Tyler Roberts is heading to the Euros this summer after being named in Rob Page’s final 26-man squad.
The 22-year-old has been listed as a forward by Wales and will be competing for those spots, alongside Kieffer Moore and Gareth Bale – but, of course, he has versatility in his legs and he can drop deeper.
Leeds fans, as well as Wales supporters, reacted to Page’s decision to include him.
Roberts hasn’t been a regular at Leeds this season given their step up to the Premier League and the competition in front of him.
It’s going to pretty hard for him to dethrone the thriving Patrick Bamford from Leeds’ starting XI, so that then leaves very few places for the Welshman to compete with.
But the key thing for Roberts is that he ended the season in a healthy fashion and now he has the chance to make a name for himself on one of the biggest stages in world football.
He won’t be expected to be a starter, but if he can have a few magic moments then it can bode well for him when he returns to Leeds this summer.
It does seem as though Roberts needs that spark in his game to take it to the next level and provide some much-needed consistency, which has been missing.
