Mateusz Klich was arguably one of Leeds United’s best players during their latest pre-season friendly.

A number of Leeds fans took to Twitter to praise Mateusz Klich after watching his performance during the Whites’ pre-season friendly with York City on Thursday night.
Heading into the game, the Leeds supporters would have been forgiven for wondering what the future may hold for the Poland international. A difficult start to life at Elland Road was followed by a loan move back to the Eredivisie from January, and his absence from Marcelo Bielsa’s squad against Forest Green Rovers earlier this week hinted that he has work to do to impress his new head coach.
But he did get the chance to shine against York. The 28-year-old was picked as part of the back three in the first-half and seemed to put in a decent performance. He got the chance to move further forward in the second-half as Hugo Diaz came on to play at the back. And he seemed to make much more of an impact in the middle of the park, linking up nicely with new signing Lewis Baker as Leeds came from behind to draw 1-1.

And it was a performance that left several Leeds supporters urging Bielsa to give Klich more of a chance than Thomas Christiansen did before his loan exit.
Klich offers plenty of versatility and many felt that he was actually the best player on the pitch. And while Bielsa may be reluctant to draw major conclusions from the game on its own, it would not be a surprise if the midfielder had gone up in his estimation after his performance.

Here is what some of the Leeds supporters made of Klich’s display…
