Leeds United fans on Twitter have shared their thoughts on the rumours that they are keen on Tottenham winger Ryan Sessegnon.

The Scottish Daily Mail have reported (30/09/20, back page) that Leeds have contacted the North London club regarding a deal for their versatile attacker.

A selection of Leeds fans have offered mixed views on these rumours because Sessegnon has struggled for game time and form at Spurs.

Last summer, when he made the switch from then-relegated Fulham to Tottenham, many were excited about the move, including a certain Gary Lineker, who labelled him a ‘very talented’ player on Twitter.

But that light-footed speedster, who was wrecking havoc in England’s second-tier, seemingly hasn’t been able to adjust to life in the big time.

A lot of that has been down to injuries and a lack of game time, as it seems a move away from his current club would do him the world of good.

Leeds United’s record transfers

  1. Rodrigo (2020)

    £26 million

  2. Raphinha

    £21 million (2020)

  3. Rio Ferdinand (2000)

    £18 million

  4. Diego Llorente (2020)

    £18 million

  5. Helder Costa (2020)

    £16 million

Could Marcel Bielsa get the best out of the Fulham academy product? It first has to be questioned where he would play because he would do well to play ahead of the thriving Jack Harrison.

Playing as a left-back could be an option, with Barry Douglas struggling for game time, along with Gini Alioski, as the underrated Stuart Dallas has been playing that role.

It would be very hard to remove Dallas from the starting XI, but Sessegnon’s versatility could be useful to Leeds.

From the perspective of adding depth, the Spurs man would be a brilliant purchase, but clearly, his parent club, nor himself, would want to join another club on a temporary basis just to be a squad player.
