Leeds United fans think Brentford are making the same mistakes once again as Emiliano Marcondes claimed that Fulham are ‘fearing’ them ahead of the Championship play-off final tonight, as he told Sky Sports.
The Whites faithful pointed out how Thomas Frank made similar comments about Marcelo Bielsa’s side back in February [Leeds Live], and that came back to bite them.
Leeds earned promotion to the Premier League by becoming champions of the Championship, and at one point, it seemed as though Brentford would join them in finishing in the automatic places.
The Bees were on a charging-winning-run when football restarted, but during the last few games of the season, the pressure hit the London side and they remained in the play-off places after suffering back-to-back defeats.
Whilst Leeds may not have won that game at Griffin Park following Frank’s comments, they still picked up a vital point and they didn’t lose the game. It also has to be remembered that the Yorkshire club were on a pretty bad run back then.
For Frank’s men, and especially Marcondes, who will be expected to do the business for his side tonight, there are no draws on the table and if they are to lose then others will be keen to remind them of their comments pre-match.
