Leeds United are just one of three Championship heavyweights reportedly eyeing a move for Aston Villa speed machine Albert Adomah before Thursday’s deadline – and some Leeds fans have reacted on Twitter with pure joy.
The Guardian have claimed in their live transfer blog (Tuesday, 12:21) that Leeds are battling Nottingham Forest and Middlesbrough for the 30-year-old wide man, who starred for Villa last season.
The former Middlesbrough ace scored 15 goals for Villa before creating another seven strikes, and that has the likes of Leeds become alerted to his potential availability.
Indeed, the Ghanaian has entered the final 12 months of his contract at Villa, and the club may be forced to sell now rather than risk losing him on a free transfer this time next year.
Leeds have plenty of options out wide in Pablo Hernandez, Gjanni Alioski, Jack Harrison and Stuart Dallas, but the signing of Adomah would certainly see the pacey star become first choice at Elland Road.
Some Leeds fans reacted to the news that Marcelo Bielsa’s side were reportedly eyeing a last-minute move to sign Adomah this summer, with the majority delighted that the club are interested in a player with such proven quality.
