Some Leeds United fans on Twitter are sending their sympathies to Pontus Jansson.

For the second year in succession, Jansson has lost a Premier League playoff game following Brentford’s defeat by Fulham last night.

Last season after losing to Derby County in the semi-finals, the then-Leeds defender was photographed sitting with his back against one of the advertisement boards looking inconsolable.

And although quite a few fans of the Elland Road club mocked their former centre-back – who joined the Bees for £5.5 million last summer – many more sent heartfelt sentiments to the big man.

Here’s what Leeds fans sent him:

Mocking Jansson doesn’t seem all too fair, given that it was Marcelo Bielsa who reportedly wanted the former Torino defender gone.

If the player himself decided that he was better off at Brentford then at Leeds then fair enough, but he would’ve loved to stay in West Yorkshire and help them win promotion.

As it were, Bielsa was right because the Whites flew back to the Premier League this past season and without arguably their best defender over the past four years.
