
Leeds fans have hit back after Jurgen Klopp was left ‘angry’ at the Yorkshire club for wearing their ‘earn it’ t-shirts before Monday’s 1-1 draw at Elland Road.
With the proposed European Super League still causing shockwaves across the world, Leeds sent a message to those 12 teams, including Liverpool, wanting to breakaway to moneyland.
They stated on their t-shirts ‘earn it’, added with the Champions League logo and ‘football is for fans’.
But this seemingly riled Klopp, who told Monday Night Football on Sky Sports, that ‘it’s a real joke’ that you have to tell them they have to go and earn Champions League football.
The German also told Leeds that ‘maybe they should remind themselves’ after the t-shirts were also put in Liverpool’s dressing room.
But the Leeds faithful have backed their team for their actions and tried to make it clear to Klopp that this wasn’t aimed at him, or his players, but those in the boardroom.
The so-called ‘big six’ have taken a lot of hits during a hectic and drama-filled 24 hours that have rocked football.
And it’s perhaps understandable, why some players or coaches, are perhaps frosty about the matter because they have to face the music when it was the faceless and hardly-seen board members who have put these clubs in such a situation.
