Some Leeds United fans on social media have been reacting to Adam Forshaw’s first appearance for the club in almost 700 days.

After two years of injury hell, Forshaw finally returned to competitive first-team action on Tuesday evening, and as you can imagine, fans were quick to analyse how he got on.

There are bound to have been worries about whether or not he’d be up to scratch after almost two years out. After all, there’s bound to be an element of rust, but the midfielder slotted in as if he’d never missed a game.

Indeed, Forshaw looked back to his very best against Crewe, and while it was only against League One opposition, this is certainly a good sign.

One fan even stated that Forshaw will be like a new signing, and we’re inclined to agree – he’ll add a much-needed extra body in the middle of the park.

Forshaw could yet have an impact in the Premier League this season, and with Marcelo Bielsa reportedly being a big fan, don’t be surprised if he gets chances in the top-flight.

It was fantastic to see Forshaw back in action after 696 days out, with his last game coming against Charlton Athletic in the Championship back in September 2019, and supporters were very impressed by what they saw from the midfielder.

Here’s what the Elland Road faithful have been saying online…
