What a way to score your first Leeds United goal.

Rodrigo came off the bench against Premier League giants Manchester City this evening and cancelled out Raheem Sterling’s first-half opener, earning a superb point for the hosts at Elland Road.

There was a bit of a scramble inside the six-yard box following a Leeds corner.

And when the ball broke to their £30 million record signing, the Spaniard was on hand to tuck it home.

Marcelo Bielsa swapped Tyler Roberts for Rodrigo on 56 minutes and three minutes later, it was 1-1.

It’s an example of Bielsa’s game management and some Leeds fans on Twitter all agree that the Whites were so much better when the former Valencia star came on.

Here’s what they’re saying on social media:

What a good team Leeds are proving to be.

If losing 4-3 away to Premier League champions Liverpool wasn’t evidence that Bielsa’s troops are going to ruffle feathers among England’s elite this season, then taking the game to Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City and holding their own is such a strong testament to United’s quality.

They’ve been a breath of fresh air already and if this is the start of a purple patch for Rodrigo, things are going to get better.
