Nedum Onuoha has said on ESPN what he has heard about Tottenham Hotspur winger Gareth Bale in training.

Bale, who returned to Tottenham on loan from Real Madrid in the summer of 2020, is only just starting to play regularly for the North London club.

The 31-year-old winger scored twice for Spurs in their Premier League match against Crystal Palace at the weekend and is starting to get back to his old form.

Former Manchester City and Queens Park Rangers defender Onuoha has shared what he heard about Bale and the issues he had in training at Tottenham earlier in the season.

Onuoha said about Bale on ESPN: “From what I heard earlier in the season, Gareth Bale wasn’t quite at full match sharpness.

“I think he was doing stuff in training, but he had some issues in terms of how he was shooting and stuff because he wasn’t quite there yet.

“I think a signifiant early part of the season he wasn’t ready to play and the Gareth Bale we are seeing now wouldn’t have been possible back then.”

Hitting form at the right time

Tottenham are very much in the running for the Premier League top four and have also progressed to the Round of 16 in the Europa League.

This is the business end of the season now, and Bale is hitting form at the right time.

The winger is a brilliant footballer who scores goals and creates chances, and his combination with Harry Kane and Son Heung-min in attack could be devastating for any opposition team.
