Glasgow Rangers midfielder Josh Windass is reportedly being lined up for a potential move away from Ibrox this summer.

It has been reported by the East Anglian Daily Times that Rangers midfielder Josh Windass is on Ipswich’s radar this summer, and that the Championship club have made contact with the Gers regarding a potential move for the 24-year-old.

Windass appears to be the most divisive member of Steven Gerrard’s squad. The attacking midfielder scored 18 times in all competitions last season, but has struggled to win all of the Ibrox faithful over during his time with the Gers.

He has started the new campaign in slightly underwhelming fashion, but did impress some fans during the Gers’ Scottish Premiership opener against Aberdeen at the weekend – though, once again, there were also plenty of critics.

But it appears that Windass could potentially be on his way during the final days of the English transfer window, with the East Anglian Daily Times reporting that Ipswich have been in contact with Rangers over a potential move. The report suggests that no bid has been made at this stage.

It remains to be seen if Rangers let Windass leave, but it appears that there are a number of Ipswich fans who would love to see the Englishman make the move to Portman Road this summer.

Ipswich have had some success with signing players from Rangers in recent times. The second tier side signed both Martyn Waghorn and Joe Garner from the Gers while Pedro Caixinha was in charge, and they ended up scoring 26 league goals between them, and it appears that many of the Tractor Boys’ supporters would like to see Windass make the same move.
