Rangers are pursuing a deal to bring Kyle Lafferty back to Ibrox.
Rangers have brought in ten summer signings so far, but they aren’t stopping there as new manager Steven Gerrard pursues the signature of another striker.
The Gers have brought in Allan McGregor, Jon Flanagan, Connor Goldson, Nikola Katic, Ovie Ejaria, Lassana Coulibaly, Scott Arfield, Jamie Murphy, Ryan Kent and Umar Sadiq so far this summer, backing Gerrard with new faces.
However, one position Rangers fans still want strengthening is at centre forward, as whilst Alfredo Morelos scored twice in two games, his inconsistency is a concern, and Sadiq is something of an unknown quantity.
Adding a striker with a proven record in Scottish football to take pressure off two young forwards would be huge for Rangers, and they appear to have identified one to target.
As reported by Sky Sports, Rangers submitted a £200,000 bid to bring Hearts forward Kyle Lafferty back to Ibrox six years after his departure, but their offer was unsurprisingly rejected.
Lafferty, 30, hit 19 goals in all competitions for Hearts last season, and the Northern Ireland international is now wanted back in Glasgow for his experience and goals.
The Scottish Sun have since claimed that Rangers could look to offer Lee Wallace as a makeweight for Lafferty, with the left back seemingly unwanted at Ibrox and possibly interested in returning to Hearts, where he started his career in 2003 before leaving for Rangers in 2012.
Unsurprisingly, Hearts fans have taken to Twitter to offer their thoughts, with some suggesting that they would love a cash deal plus Wallace in part-exchange, though others feel that he would offer nothing to the current Hearts team, and the club should stay strong and keep Lafferty no matter what.
