It seems like Liverpool youngster Sepp van den Berg enjoyed a return to form on Saturday afternoon.
The 19-year-old defender helped loan club Preston North End to a 1-1 draw against Bournemouth yesterday.
Van den Berg, who joined Liverpool in the summer of 2019, had an erratic performance in the 2-1 defeat by Millwall in midweek.
But the young Dutchman didn’t put a foot wrong against the Cherries on Saturday – despite playing in an unfamiliar right-back role.
Some Preston fans praised the Liverpool youngster for his display in the win over Huddersfield Town last week and here’s what they’re saying on Twitter this time around.
Van den Berg left the Reds to join the Lilywhites on a half-season loan after Ben Davies moved the other way in a £2 million deal, due to the defensive crisis at Anfield in recent months.
Breaking into Jurgen Klopp’s senior squad is a mightily difficult task for the youngster, but he needed senior football and hopefully for him and Liverpool, he’ll return a much more rounded footballer in the summer.
