The Rangers manager Steven Gerrard allowed Ross McCrorie to leave Ibrox in the summer transfer window.

The loaned-out Rangers youngster Ross McCrorie made his first appearance for nearly a month on Tuesday night.
McCrorie, a semi-regular for Rangers in each of the previous two campaigns, was allowed to leave Ibrox by Steven Gerrard in the summer transfer window.
But his temporary spell at Portsmouth has been somewhat stop-start so far, with a combination of suspension and form restricting him to just eight appearances in all competitions.
The 21-year-old was however recalled for the visit of Lincoln City, which ended in a 1-0 win for Kenny Jackett’s side.
But McCrorie, who usually played centre-back or central midfield for Rangers, was once again deployed as a right-back for Portsmouth.

And some Pompey fans aren’t convinced by Jackett’s ongoing experiment.
This is what they have had to say on Twitter…
McCrorie’s loan deal does not include an option for Portsmouth to buy him outright, as confirmed by Gerrard earlier this season.
The South Ayrshire native still has two seasons left on his contract at Rangers, after this one.
