Some fans have spotted what Liverpool's Thiago did straight after Spain game

Everybody knows that with a ball at his feet, Liverpool midfielder Thiago Alcantara is among Europe’s classiest technicians.

But it seems to be the case even when the match has finished.

There was heartbreak for the Liverpool player on Tuesday when Spain were eliminated from Euro 2020 on penalties by Italy.

The Reds star scored from 12 yards, but Roberto Mancini’s side advanced into the final with a 4-2 shootout win.

It was agony for Luis Enrique’s troops and the sight of Pedri in floods of tears illustrates the scale of the disappointment.

But Thiago, a £20 million signing by Liverpool last summer, put his hurt to one side to personally congratulate the Italians on their victory.

There was footage on Twitter of the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich star embracing the opposition straight after the shootout.

The good news from a Liverpool perspective is that Jurgen Klopp gets his player back slightly earlier than he might have had Spain reached the final.
