Everton have reportedly told Yannick Bolasie he is surplus to requirements.
Everton winger Yannick Bolasie has reportedly been told that he is surplus to requirements by manager Marco Silva after the Toffees landed speed machine Richarlison from Watford – and some Everton fans want him gone.
The 29-year-old has struggled to regain the kind of form that saw him earn a £25million move to Everton in the summer of 2016, after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament injury in November that year.
He spent more than a year on the sidelines before returning to make 16 Premier League appearances during the second half of the 2017-18 Premier League campaign – but he simply did not do enough.
He only managed one goal, and failed to create any strikes. Now, the Guardian have claimed that Everton are willing to wave goodbye to the France-born DR Congo international this summer, with former club Crystal Palace said to be keen.
Bolasie still has three years remaining on his current contract at Goodison Park, but following the signing of Richarlison and the decision to keep Ademola Lookman, it is difficult to see where Bolasie would fit into Everton’s side.
Some Everton fans reacted to the news that Bolasie could be set to leave Merseyside, with the majority of fans urging him to leave while others suggested that a deal involving cash and Bolasie could be agreed for Wilfried Zaha.
