Everton have yet to make a new signing this summer, but they could be about to make a huge splash to kickstart the Marcel Brands and Marco Silva era.

The Toffees have been quiet so far, but Sky Sports now report that Everton are pursuing a blockbuster deal for Bordeaux winger Malcom in what would be a major coup.

It’s claimed that Everton are discussing a £30million deal with Bordeaux for Malcom, and they are prepared to put him on £80,000-a-week in order to make the move to Goodison Park.

The Brazilian has mostly been linked with the likes of Arsenal, Inter Milan and Tottenham Hotspur, but Everton are attempting to swoop in and take him to Merseyside.

Malcom, 21, has starred for Bordeaux since a January 2016 move from Corinthians in his native Brazil, and he hit 12 goals and seven assists in 35 Ligue 1 appearances last season.

The winger has impressed with his pace, trickery and superb long-range goals on his left foot, and at just £30million, he could be a relative bargain in such an inflated transfer market.

Understandably, Everton fans are hugely excited about the potential deal, and took to Twitter to react to the rumours, suggesting that director of football Brands should be praised and even apologised to if he pulls off a deal.

Others don’t believe that Everton can land Malcom or would rather keep Ademola Lookman, but most fans feel that he would be a huge coup and a real signal of intent based on his stunning displays for Bordeaux.
