Everton are reportedly keen on Chelsea’s Danny Drinkwater.

Everton tied up their second signing of the summer earlier today, as Barcelona left back Lucas Digne was announced as a Toffees player following lengthy negotiations.
Digne follows Watford winger Richarlison to Goodison Park, and whilst those are two major additions for new manager Marco Silva, new director of football Marcel Brands will still be working on further additions.
Another midfielder should be a priority for Brands and Silva, with a partner needed for Idrissa Gueye given the poor displays of Morgan Schneiderlin last season, and Tom Davies hasn’t quite kicked on yet.
Now, The Mirror report that Everton are keen to snap up Chelsea midfielder Danny Drinkwater, with the 28-year-old set to be made available for loan before the transfer deadline.
Drinkwater won the Premier League title with Leicester in 2016, and made a big-money move to Chelsea last summer, but endured a dismal campaign in West London as he made just five Premier League starts.
With Jorginho joining the Blues from Napoli alongside new boss Maurizio Sarri, Drinkwater looks to be available, and Everton fans have been taking to Twitter to react.

Many feel that Drinkwater would be a superb signing for Everton, and would walk into the Toffees’ midfield, suggesting that he would form a strong partnership with Idrissa Gueye having played superb alongside a similar player in N’Golo Kante at Leicester.
Others feel that the signing would be very ‘Steve Walsh’, ironic given that he was the man who signed Drinkwater for Leicester from Manchester United, but the general consensus is that this would be a smart move for Everton.
