Jonathan David has told The Sun that he is open to a move to the Premier League, amid rumours linking him with Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal and Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur.
The Lille striker, who played for Canada at the 2022 Qatar World Cup, has said that the Premier League is the best domestic league in the world and wants to play in England “some day”.
David’s comments will come as huge encouragement for Arsenal and Tottenham’s pursuit of David.
GiveMeSport reported last month that Tottenham, Arsenal and Everton all want to sign David from Lille.
The Chronicle have reported interest in the youngster from Arsenal as well as Newcastle United.

David said: “The Premier League is the best league in the world and every player would want to play there some day.
“I have been focused on trying to enjoy the World Cup and enjoy the moment. What happens now I do not know, we will see.”

It shows that the 22-year-old striker could be tempted to join Arsenal or Tottenham.
Lille are an established club in Ligue 1, but the former French champions do sell their best players for good transfer fees.
David is under contract at Lille until the summer of 2025, so Spurs and Arsenal will have to pay a good fee if they are to sign him in the January transfer window or next summer.
David has scored nine goals and provided three assists in 1 Ligue 1 appearances for Lille so far this season.
