Celtic face Rosenborg in the first leg of their Champions League qualifier on Wednesday night.

Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers is facing somewhat of a defensive headache ahead of Wednesday night’s Champions League qualifier against Rosenborg – and some fans want him to bring back outcast Cristian Gamboa.
Gamboa, 28, managed just three appearances for Celtic last season but has kept fit this summer by taking part at the World Cup for Costa Rica, facing Brazil, Serbia and Switzerland.
The former West Bromwich Albion star has been forced to watch from the sidelines for much of the 2017-18 campaign with Rodgers preferring Mikael Lustig, James Forrest and even Jack Hendry on the right side of defence.
Rodgers faces a dilemma, with Jozo Simunovic’s red card ruling him out. The Hoops are also without Mikael Lustig and Dedryck Boyata, who progressed into the knockout stages at the World Cup with Sweden and Belgium.

That leaves Rodgers with just Hendry and Kristoffer Ajer at centre-back, with Marvin Compper ostracised. Forrest could be used at right-back, but Gamboa has a strong chance of making the side.
His future at Celtic is in huge doubt with only a year remaining on his £15k-a-week contract (Daily Star), some Celtic fans are keen to see Gamboa star against Rosenborg – four years after leaving the Norwegian side to join West Brom.
