Celtic will reportedly sign Daniel Arzani on loan.

Daniel Arzani of Australia trains during an Australia Socceroos training session at Stadium Trudovye Rezervy on June 17, 2018 in Kazan, Russia.

Some Celtic fans on Twitter are getting excited about potentially signing Daniel Arzani.

According to The Daily Mail’s Live Transfer Blog [25/07/2018 13:13], Celtic are close to signing the Australia international on a two-year loan.

It has been reported that Manchester City will sign the 19-year-old from Melbourne City – the Citizens’ sister club – and then allow him to join the Hoops for the 2018-19 campaign.

Arzani showed flashes of his undoubted potential during the World Cup, making three appearances off the bench.

And some Celtic fans are buzzing about the prospect of landing him soon.

Ideally, you would hope that Arzani has a similar impact at Parkhead as Patrick Roberts, who spent two-and-a-half years with Celtic and progressed a lot under Brendan Rodgers, before returning to parent club Man City this summer.

Some fans would prefer if Rodgers had an option to buy the teenager outright come next summer, but if City go to the trouble of signing him for a reported £280,000 then including an option-to-buy clause makes little sense.

Arzani will be Rodgers’s third summer signing, after retaining the services of Scott Bain and spending a club-record £8 million on Odsonne Edouard.
