Celtic secured their place in the second qualifying round of the Champions League with ease.

Celtic booked their place in the second qualifying round of the Champions League with utter ease after winning 6-0 on aggregate against FC Alashkert on Wednesday night – but some Celtic fans are worried about Jack Hendry.

The Hoops went into Wednesday night’s clash at Parkhead with a three-goal advantage after their first-leg triumph, and repeated the impressive scoreline despite the early sending off of Jozo Simunovic.

French goal machine Moussa Dembele had already put Celtic 1-0 to the good in the seventh minute, firing into the net from the edge of the area. Simunovic received his marching orders for a high challenge in the 11th minute.

But that did not phase Celtic, as Dembele doubled the lead from the spot before James Forrest killed the tie in the 35th minute after racing through to score on the counter.

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers is seen prior to the UEFA Champions League Qualifier between Celtic and Alashkert FC at Celtic Park on July 18, 2018 in Glasgow, Scotland.

Despite winning so convincingly, Brendan Rodgers will have a number of concerns ahead of next week’s tie against Rosenborg, following Simunovic’s suspension and an injury to Dembele.

But what worries some Celtic fans the most is that 23-year-old defender Hendry is likely to start against the Norwegian outfit, with Marvin Compper also sidelined and Dedryck Boyata being afforded an extended break following his World Cup exploits.

A handful of Hoops fans are concerned because they believe Hendry is “out of his depth”.
