Celtic put one foot in the second round of the Champions League qualifiers with a dominant win in Armenia.

A number of Celtic fans have taken to Twitter to laud Lewis Morgan after the young winger was given the chance to make his competitive debut for the Hoops in the first-leg of their Champions League qualifier against Alashkert.
Few would have been expecting the Bhoys to be at all troubled in the first of potentially four qualifying rounds, but Brendan Rodgers would have certainly not allowed his men to get carried away with the two year anniversary of their infamous defeat to Lincoln Red Imps in the Northern Irishman’s first competitive game in charge of the Scottish Premiership side a couple of days away.
But any concerns regarding a potential upset in Armenia were quashed as Celtic put in a thoroughly professional performance. Odsonne Edouard marked his first game since joining the Hoops permanently by breaking the deadlock in first-half stoppage-time, before James Forrest made the result safe with nine minutes to go and Callum McGregor arguably put the overall tie beyond doubt in the final moments.
A 3-0 win led to many Celtic fans on social media questioning why the club find themselves placed in this round of the competition, but Rodgers may reflect that it was a beneficial fixture as it gave the Hoops boss the chance to have a look at some of his players when a bit of pressure is on.

One of those who got the chance to impress was Morgan. The January signing was brought on for the final 13 minutes and certainly caught the eye of a number of supporters, with many hugely impressed by what the 21-year-old brought to the table.
Morgan looked exciting during his time on the pitch, and many Celtic supporters appear to feel that the move to sign him at the start of the year will turn out to be an inspired deal in the coming years.

Here is what some of the Celtic fans made of Morgan’s performance…
