Some Bristol City fans have taken to Twitter to give their reaction to speculation linking the club with Rangers manager Steven Gerrard.

Rangers boss Gerrard is a managerial candidate for City in the Championship in England, according to The Express.

The Robins are looking for a new permanent manager following the recent departure of Lee Johnson.

Liverpool legend Gerrard, who was appointed as the Rangers manager in the summer of 2018, is on the shortlist of managers that City’s billionaire owner Steve Lansdown is looking at, according to the report.

Chris Hughton, Charlton Athletic manager Lee Bowyer and Plymouth Argyle boss Ryan Lowe are also reportedly on the list.

Some City fans have given their take on speculation regarding Gerrard, and below are some of the best comments on Twitter:

Unlikely summer exit

With the new Scottish Premiership campaign set to start next month, it is hard to see Gerrard leave his role at Rangers.

The former England international midfielder is aiming to stop Rangers’ bitter Old Firm rivals Celtic from winning the Scottish Premiership title next season, and one suspects that he is not going to leave now.
