Benfica fans have had a mixed reaction to the news that Tottenham Hotspur are set to sign Carlos Vinicius.

Football London report how Tottenham are now closing in on a deal for Vinicius, as they finally seem to have found their new striker.

Vinicius has been a prolific scorer for Benfica over the past year, and he should provide some valuable cover for Harry Kane if he is to arrive at Tottenham.

However, the powerful forward is still a relatively unknown prospect in English football.

And Spurs fans are likely to be largely heartened by the reaction of Benfica supporters to the news that he could depart, although it hasn’t been unanimously positive.

Tottenham supporters are likely just to be relieved to see a new number nine coming to the club.

Ever since Fernando Llorente left Spurs seem to have been chasing a striker to no avail, but they may finally get a deal over the line this summer.
