Some Barcelona fans have taken to Twitter to give their reaction to speculation linking the club with Liverpool midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum.
According to The Guardian, new Barcelona head coach Ronald Koeman wants to sign Wijnaldum from Liverpool in the summer transfer window.
The 29-year-old midfielder is in the final year of his contract at the Premier League, and Koeman – who worked with him for the Netherlands national football team – wants to take advantage of a deadlock in talks over a new deal, according to the report.
It has been further claimed that although Liverpool are reluctant to sell the former Newcastle United midfielder, if they receive a sizeable offer for the Dutchman, then they could cash in on him.
Wijnaldum joined the Reds from Newcastle in 2016 and has established himself as an important player in manager Jurgen Klopp’s side.
The Netherlands international is a regular in the Liverpool starting lineup, and played his role in the club winning the Champions League in 2018-19 and the Premier League last season.
