Aston Villa fans believe that their interest in John McGinn is proof that Tottenham Hotspur target Jack Grealish is going.
And Villa fans fear that McGinn could well be being targeted as a replacement for Grealish, who is heavily linked with a move to Spurs.
Tottenham have been chasing Grealish throughout the summer so far, as reported by the Telegraph, but Steve Bruce admitted last night that Villa have a fight on their hands to keep hold of their star player.
Grealish did play for Villa against Hull City, but whether he will still be around at Villa Park after Thursday remains to be seen.
Tottenham are yet to complete a signing this summer, and seem reluctant to pay Villa’s asking price for Grealish.
McGinn is capable of playing in central midfield, or in a more advanced role, and scored six goals and claimed eight assists for Hibs last season.
