A number of Aston Villa fans were impressed by what they saw from the full-back in the emphatic win.

Aston Villa fans may be counting down the days until the end of the window, but Steve Bruce’s side are certainly giving them something to smile about on the pitch with an impressive win in their latest pre-season game.
The Villans ran out 4-1 winners against Walsall on Tuesday night, with Conor Hourihane bagging a hat-trick and Jack Grealish proving again why holding onto him this summer could boost the club’s promotion hopes significantly this coming year.
Amongst the other players to impress was Ritchie De Laet. The Belgian has endured a difficult career with Villa since arriving from Leicester City in 2016.
He made just three Championship appearances before his first season with the club was ended by a long-term injury, and once again, only played a handful of games last term before leaving on loan in January.

However, it appears that he may potentially find himself in Bruce’s plans for the coming campaign after he featured in the win over the League One side, and several of the supporters were impressed by the 29-year-old.
Others may have made more of an impact in the game, but De Laet’s encouraging performance seemed to be a pleasant surprise for many of the Villa fans who now feel that he could have a role to play next season.
