Aston Villa may have won their first game under Steven Gerrard on Saturday, but some Villa fans were equally as interested with what was going on in Norfolk.
Indeed, while Saturday was Gerrard’s first game as Villa boss, it was also Dean Smith’s first match in charge of Norwich City and it’s fair to say he’s gotten off to a flying start.
Smith’s Canaries got just their second win of the season as they won 2-1 against Southampton, meaning that they’re just three points off of 17th place.
Norwich do have an uphill battle on their hands if they’re going to survive, but it seems as though the appointment of Smith could transform their seasons.
Villa fans certainly believe Norwich have turned a corner, they’ve been full of praise fo their former boss on social media and they’re seemingly buzzing for the 50-year-old.
Whether or not Smith can keep Norwich up remains to be seen, but Villa fans are very happy to see him get off to a good start at Carrow Road.
