Former Arsenal goalkeeper David Ospina rolled back the years in, um, a bad way this morning.

Ospina started for his native Colombia in a Copa America group game against Brazil in the early hours.

And for 78 minutes it looked like the Colombians were set to nick a 1-0 victory.

But Liverpool hitman Roberto Firmino popped up with a headed equaliser in the final quarter, before Casemiro snatched an injury-time winner.

Ospina kept 12 clean sheets in 29 Premier League games for Arsenal, which isn’t a bad return.

But he was never really Arsene Wenger’s first-choice option between the sticks and that’s because he has a mistake in him, as he reminded fans of the North London club this morning.

Ospina got down low to parry Firmino’s header, but nowhere near enough strength as it trickled over the line.

Here’s how Arsenal fans reacted to the howler on Twitter:

Still looking

Ospina left the Emirates Stadium to join Napoli on a season-long loan three years ago after Wenger’s departure, before making the move a permanent one 12 months later.

And it says quite a lot that Arsenal still haven’t found a top goalkeeper, with Bernd Leno expected to leave this summer following a poor last 12 months under Mikel Arteta.

The Gunners, who sold Emiliano Martinez last August, are still looking for a reliable, assured figure between the sticks after years of occasional goalkeeping howlers – and Ospina was responsible for his fair share of those.
