Some Arsenal fans on Twitter are interested in seeing their club make a move for Mario Gotze.

Gotze, who scored the winning goal for Germany in a World Cup final six years ago, is set to leave Borussia Dortmund on a free transfer after it was revealed in Germany that he wouldn’t be signing a new contract at Signal Iduna Park.

So far, Arsenal have really only been linked to moves for defensive-minded players, such as Thomas Partey and an array of centre-backs.

But Mikel Arteta might need a new creative midfielder going forward as Dani Ceballos comes into the final stages of his loan from Real Madrid.

And Gunners fans on social media wouldn’t be against seeing Head of Football Raul Sanllehi making a move for the 27–year-old.

Gotze seems to be have been around for years but he’s still only 27 and therefore is only coming into the peak years of his career now.

Of course, Arsenal already have a certain Mesut Ozil on the books, but there’s a lot of supporters who would rather see Gotze ahead of his former Germany team-mate in North London.
