Some Arsenal fans on social media are all of a sudden very happy with the deal they’re getting with Ben White after Duncan Castles shared details of the transfer move.
White is set to join Arsenal this summer, and while he is set to cost the club £50m, they won’t be paying all of that up-front.
Indeed, Castles says that the Gunners will pay £30m in the first calendar year for White as well as £10m a year for the next two seasons.
These staggered payments mean that Arsenal won’t take a huge hit to their current transfer budget, nor will it be a huge hindrance in terms of their FFP calculations.
Granted, Spending £50m on White isn’t the best piece of business Arsenal have ever done, but negotiating a deal that sees them pay such a fee over a three-year period makes the move seem a lot better.
