Newcastle United are reportedly keen on Juventus midfielder and former Arsenal star Aaron Ramsey.
According to Goal, Steve Bruce’s side have enquired about the Welsh international. The Old Lady are eager to sell Ramsey this summer just two years after arriving in Italy.
Juventus signed the 30-year-old midfielder after Ramsey’s contract with Arsenal expired.
But despite being a regular under both Maurizio Sarri and Andrea Pirlo, the midfielder is expected to leave this window.
Moreover, Ramsey is one of Juventus’ highest-paid players. And with club eager to reduce their weekly wage, shipping off the former Arsenal star is proving to be one of the Turin side’s top priorities this window.
Indeed, the Welsh star has been linked with a return to Arsenal this window as well. However, it is likely that the Gunners won’t make a move for their former player.
Ramsey was a fan favourite at Arsenal as the midfielder was a reliable goalscorer from midfield as well as a player who scored two winning goals in FA Cup finals.
Indeed, whilst Arsenal fans would love to see the midfielder return, Newcastle’s interest in Ramsey could indicate that Joe Willock is remaining in north London this summer.
The 21-year-old Hale End graduate is Newcastle’s main target this window. However, the Magpies are yet to agree a deal with Arsenal for Willock.
