Some Arsenal fans have responded to Mohamed Elneny’s post on Twitter.

The Egypt international defensive midfielder has expressed his delight on the social networking site at wearing the captain’s armband during Arsenal’s 3-0 win against Dundalk at the Emirates Stadium in the Europa League on Thursday evening.

The 28-year-old started the match and played for the entire 90 minutes, and wore the armband after Granit Xhaka was substituted in the 74th minute.

Elneny, who spent the 2019-20 campaign on loan at Besiktas, was calm and composed in the middle of the park, and he ended the game at centre-back.

According to WhoScored, the defensive midfielder took two shots which were not on target, played one key pass, had a pass accuracy of 100%, took 46 touches, and made one interception.

Meanwhile, Matteo Guendouzi has said that Arsenal duo Mesut Ozil and Bernd Leno advised him to leave the Gunners on loan.

The French midfielder moved to Hertha Berlin on loan from the Gunners in the summer transfer window.

“I had a very good relationship with Mesut Ozil and Bernd Leno,” Guendouzi told Kicker. as translated by Goal.com. “Both of them told me a lot of good things about the Bundesliga.”
