Arsenal defender Dinos Mavropanos seems to be getting on pretty well over in Germany.
The Gunners loaned their big Greek centre-back to Stuttgart last summer and despite a couple of short-term knocks, Mavropanos is playing regular football.
The 23-year-old, who joined Arsenal three years ago, managed 84 minutes on Friday night as the Bundesliga side beat Mainz 2-0 at home.
He got taken off at half-time last weekend, but his return to the first XI last night would’ve been a big boost for him.
Mavropanos, who was signed during Arsene Wenger’s reign, took to Twitter to celebrate the victory.
And here’s how Arsenal fans responded to him on social media:
It seems pretty unlikely that he has much future in North London.
Sokratis has had his contract terminated and the same might happen with Shkodran Mustafi, but Mikel Arteta still has a lot of centre-backs, in the form of David Luiz, Rob Holding, Gabriel, Pablo Mari, Calum Chambers and William Saliba – who left on loan this month – on the books.
Unless he has a storming second half of the season in Germany, Mavropanos isn’t coming back to Arsenal for good if he does return once his loan ends.
