Former Arsenal goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez has reacted to Aston Villa’s latest defeat on Twitter.
Dean Smith’s side lost 3-2 away to Burnley on Wednesday night and it was a mixed performance from the Argentine.
Martinez, who joined Aston Villa from Arsenal in a £20 million deal in September, couldn’t do much about any of the goals, but he was given a rollicking by team-mate Ezri Konsa for some indecisiveness.
The 28-year-old has revealed on Twitter that the Villans would bounce back from this ‘unacceptable’ defeat.
And here’s how some Gunners fans responded to their former star on social media:
For the most part, Arsenal fans won’t have a bad word to say about Martinez.
He opted to leave after Mikel Arteta made it clear that Bernd Leno would get the number one shirt back after returning to full fitness.
Bear in mind that Martinez was arguably Arsenal’s best player during Project Restart and played a huge role in their FA Cup success in August, so to be told that you’d be returning to the bench must have hurt and few can blame him for quitting the Emirates Stadiums side.
