Some Arsenal fans on Twitter are begging David Luiz to stay at the club, amid doubts about his future.

Sky Sports reported last week that the Brazil international could be leaving after only one year in North London, following an £8 million switch from Chelsea last summer.

With no football at the moment, Arsenal are being hit hard financially by the loss of match-day revenue and the Gunners are making cut-backs where necessary.

The Telegraph has reported in recent days that the club’s hierarchy could offer Luiz a reduced wage in order to stay at the club.

The 33-year-old has this afternoon described Arsenal as ‘so special’ on Twitter – and here’s how fans of the Emirates Stadium club responded to that post.

Truthfully, Luiz wouldn’t be a huge loss to Arsenal if they sign Pablo Mari on a permanent basis.

With William Saliba also back for the 2020-21 campaign, having spent last season on loan at Saint-Etienne, Mikel Arteta has more than enough central defenders.
