
Some Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to give their reaction to the performance of William Saliba for the Under-23 side against their Derby County counterparts on Friday evening.
Steve Bould’s side got the better of their Derby counterparts 3-1 in the Premier League 2 fixture.
Saliba started the match and played for the entire 90 minutes, as the 19-year-old got some valuable playing time.
The central defender was very impressive, as the youngster read the game well, made timely challenges and interventions, looked solid at the back, and was comfortable carrying the ball out from defence.
There was one occasion in the second half when the teenager’s error led to a chance for Louie Watson, but every defender makes mistakes from time to time.
The France Under-20 international is not part of Arsenal’s Europa League squad and has not made a single appearance in the Premier League so far this season.
