Some Arsenal fans on Twitter have been agreeing with Jamie Carragher’s view that Mikel Arteta should not be sacked at Arsenal.

Arteta has gotten off to a rotten start with the Gunners this season, as the north London outfit sit 15th after 11 games of the season, a huge decline from the 5th place finish they achieved in Unai Emery’s first season at the club.

However, despite their poor start, Carragher believes that Arteta should be given the chance to turn things around at the Emirates.

“I wouldn’t even think about Arteta’s position. I really like Arteta. Arteta brought in Partey and Gabriel and they look Arsenal’s 2 best players. They’ve had 4 managers, 3 CEO’s since 2018 – just stick with Arteta,” Carragher said on Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football.

Whether or not the Arsenal board agrees with Carragher remains to be seen, but David Ornstein has said that it’s unlikely that he’ll be sacked anytime soon, so it doesn’t seem as though his departure is imminent.

Whether Arteta’s future at the Gunners is secured or not, something certainly has to change at Arsenal, but fans are keen to see the manager given more time.
