Some Arsenal fans react on Twitter to Tottenham Hotspur’s defeat to Chelsea ahead of NLD

Some Arsenal fans on Twitter have mocked Tottenham for their 2-0 defeat against Chelsea on Wednesday night, which involved a comical own goal by Kieran Trippier.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side, who will welcome the Gunners to Wembley for the north London derby on Saturday, have suffered back-to-back defeats in the Premier League in a matter of days.

At the weekend, they were beaten by Sean Dyche’s Burnley at Turf Moor and they left Stamford Bridge empty-handed on Wednesday.

In the match against Chelsea, Pedro opened the scoring in the second half when his shot went through the legs of goalkeeper Hugo Lloris before right-back Trippier was involved in a moment to forget.

Deep in how own half, whilst being closed down by Willian, Trippier attempted a pass to his keeper which ended up in the back of the net to the delight of the home supporters.

As you would expect, some Arsenal fans on Twitter saw the funny side to that moment and that defeat. One fan jokingly stating that Trippier was ‘MOTM’ on the night, while another stated that he ‘fear’ for his rivals.

Both these teams have already met on two occasions this term, both at the Emirates Stadium, once in the Premier League and the other match was a Carabao Cup encounter.

The Gunners ran out winners in the league by scoring four goals, but Spurs knocked their bitter rivals out of the League Cup as the bragging rights will be up for grabs in the season finale.
