Arsenal fans on Twitter have reacted to the rumours that Lucas Torreira could be heading for the exit doors this summer.
The Guardian have claimed that Italian duo Fiorentina and Torino are showing interest in the defensive-minded midfielder, who was purchased for £26 million by Unai Emery in 2018.
It is said that Arsenal are open to let him leave on a temporary basis before potentially selling him outright for £18 million – an £8 million loss on their original purchase.
Whilst Torreira had his moments in an Arsenal shirt, scoring in the North London derby against Tottenham will perhaps be his standout moment, he simply hasn’t been able to establish a place in the middle of the park.
Arsenal supporters have questioned what went wrong for the 24-year-old, who started to stagnate at the same time Emery’s time in North London was coming to an end.
Whilst one midfielder is seemingly heading for a move away from the club, the Arsenal fans are hoping it allows them to bring in other fresh faces.

Goal have previously claimed that the Gunners are interested in Atletico Madrid’s energy machine Thomas Partey, who has a release clause of £45 million – it is said the player is keen on a move.
If the FA Cup holders can free up the wage bill with Torreira’s departure and Emiliano Martinez’s imminent exit to Aston Villa [BBC Sport] then it may just allow them to buy Partey.
Whilst his signing isn’t guaranteed, the Arsenal faithful are dreaming because their summer transfer window business has shown that they are backing their manager on the touchline.
Could Partey be next through the door? Well, a selection of Arsenal fans are hoping he will be their player come October 5:
