Life at Arsenal may not have gone well for Mattéo Guendouzi, but things are on the up everywhere else for the player.

The 22-year-old made his France debut on Tuesday, as he came off the bench to help his country record a 2-0 win against Finland.

The Arsenal faithful congratulated Guendouzi on this achievement and him reaching Qatar 2022 with France.

Guendouzi is currently part of the squad that will travel to next year’s World Cup to defend their crown, but will he get picked?

Well, it all depends on how the hard-hitting midfielder performs on the domestic stage during these next 12 months.

At this moment in time, he is thriving in the colours of Marseille and they have an option to buy him at the end of the season.

There are some Arsenal fans who would love to see him return to North London, but that may not be possible now.

Guendouzi’s relationship with Mikel Arteta hit a brick wall after project restart over a year ago, and since then, he has been out on two loan spells

Unless Arteta is no longer manager in the summer, it would be a surprise to see Guendouzi don the club’s colours again, even though he has shown that he is good enough to sit in that midfield.

Either way, it won’t bother the player too much because he is working his way up into the France team and his stock is continuing to rise.

Here is a selection of Arsenal fans reacting to Guendouzi’s tweet about earning that debut France cap and reaching the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
