Some Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to give their reaction to the departure of Matt Macey.
As announced on Arsenal’s official website today, Macey has left Arsenal and moved to Scottish Premiership club Hibernian.
The 26-year-old goalkeeper had been on the books of the Gunners since 2013, but he could not establish himself in the first team.
The Englishman also had loan spells at Accrington Stanley, Luton Town and Plymouth Argyle.
Macey had been a regular in the first-team squad at Arsenal for the past two seasons, but he could not get ahead of Bernd Leno in the starting lineup.
Runar Alex Runarsson replaced Emiliano Martinez as the second-choice goalkeeper at Arsenal in the summer of 2020, and it was always going to be tough for Macey to get playing time.
Hibernian are an established club in the Scottish Premiership, and Macey will hope to make himself a regular in the first team in the coming weeks.
