Some Arsenal fans on Twitter were a touch underwhelmed by Houssem Aouar’s performance on Sunday evening.

The 22-year-old midfielder played the full 90 minutes as Lyon drew 1-1 away to Lorient.

It could potentially be Aouar’s last game for the Ligue 1 outfit following speculation about a move to Arsenal.

RMC Sport reported this past weekend that the Gunners were readying a £35 million offer, after seeing a bid of £33 million rejected earlier in the week.

Here’s how Arsenal fans reacted to his display yesterday:

He might not have played as poorly as some supporters made out.

According to WhoScored, the French midfielder managed a pass success of 90 percent and still created three goalscoring chances for his team-mates.

He did, however, lose the ball on three occasions and produce five heavy touches throughout the game – more than any other player.

That being said, his head can’t have possibly been entirely focused on the game amid intense speculation about his future and therefore maybe off-colour displays like this should be taken with a grain of salt.
